Services and Treatment
What to Expect At Your First Physical Therapy Session:
At your first visit, a physical therapist will perform an evaluation and talk with you about your condition. The therapist then creates an individualized physical therapy program based on the findings of your evaluation. The therapist takes into account your expectations and goals, your age and physical abilities.
The physical therapist will then use hands on techniques to improve joint, muscle, and soft tissue mobility. After mobilizing the restricted tissues, the therapist will show you exercises to do at home that are specific to your problems.
Following your first visit, your therapist will send a report to your physician regarding your evaluation and program plan. Before you return to your doctor, your therapist will send an updated report describing your progress in therapy.
Your first appointment will take about an hour to do the paper work and to have the treatment. Subsequent appointments will be 45 minutes.
